April 2010, Paris, Helene Aziza space with Ap'Art, Featuring VLF and Eli Serres, Exhibition.
This exhibition shows a work in progress on the idea of "sensitive systems". Systems represent the machine, something mechanic, what doesn't leave any space to the unexpected, the indeterminate. In opposition the idea of sensitivity is about the human time, the one of contemplation, emotion, feeling. My desire is that these two concepts can operate together in my photographic work.
OFFSHORE 1, SPACE and SEASHORE
These photos explore the idea of the needed time to a landscape observation. Photography offers a snapshot view of a landscape, it shortens the time. However time required for the observation of a landscape is longer.
So, my work consists in trying to link these two parts, this two speeds. A fast snapshot paradoxically gives an image which needs to be contemplated, to be observed slower. In this world where everything is lived in an accelerated way, I try to create a landscape "out of time" that disturbs the viewer about the reality he sees in the image.
